Drivers ’spend 2 weeks a year in jams’
Drivers in the UK spend an average of two weeks a year stuck in traffic jams, according to new research from car insurance company Zurich.
Some 76 per cent of car owners, some of who could have used a Personal loan to finance their new Citroen, Mazda or Vauxhall, were caught up in congestion during the first bank holiday weekend.
Zurich also found that this congestion can "make the blood boil" as 61 per cent of drivers said that they get frustrated in traffic jams and a fifth of drivers said they suffer from "anger" while stuck behind the wheel.
However, drivers have been given some advice. Roy Seeds, head of motor underwriting at Zurich, said that people should check traffic reports before setting out on their journey and remain "calm and alert" if stuck in a jam.
Earlier this year it was argued that taking out a car loan could be cheaper than using traditional finance methods.
Personal finance website Moneyextra said that using a competitively-priced loan to purchase a new vehicle can offer "significant savings" when compared to forecourt finance options.
